Upcoming Small Business Finance Class


Are you a current Vineyard business owner or manager who wants to build the proper infrastructure to track your income and expenses? 

In this class you will learn:

The basics of small business bookkeeeping; what’s important to know about running a business from a seasonal perspective; inventory management and financial decision-making; looking at financial (Profit and Loss) statements; and, things to consider when filing taxes.

You will also get a general introduction in business structures and the different kinds of taxation and bookkeeping necessary for your type of business. Please come with questions as there will be a Q&A session!

Seeking Instructors for Nurse Aid Training Program

Martha’s Vineyard Center for Education & Training is working in collaboration with Upper Cape Tech to launch a new Nurse Aide Training Program on Martha’s Vineyard.

We are seeking a licensed nurse to help oversee the last three weeks of this new program. The role will mainly consist of providing clinical supervision for in-person labs and clinical observations.


Upper Cape Tech hiring requirements:

-Must have an active RN or LPN license in Massachusetts

-Must have at least 1 year of work experience in long-term care

Free Financial Literacy Class Series


Session 1:
Banking – Tuesday, Nov. 29, 6-7 PM

Participants will learn the importance of banking, and the different forms and types of banking to keep their money.

Session 2: Budget – Thursday, Dec. 1, 6-7 PM

Participants will learn the psychology behind budgeting as well as tips and tools to properly budget.

Session 3: Saving – Tuesday, Dec. 6, 6-7 PM

Participants will learn best practices for savings as well as tips and strategies that can be aligned with their current lifestyle.

Session 4: Credit – Thursday, Dec. 8, 6-7 PM

Participants will learn the importance of credit, the components of a credit score, and how to avoid the pitfalls.

Session 5: Entrepreneurship – Tuesday, Dec. 13, 6-7 PM

Participants will learn tips and strategies needed to enter and succeed in the world of entrepreneurship. This includes mindset, budgeting, sales, and forecasting.
